Teapots!

This weekend, I decided to undertake some crafting love because I saw similar ideas on various website and thought "I could do that"  Please excuse the picture taking - I need to charge my digital camera and not use my cell phone :)

The top picture was cut out of scrapbooking paper that has various spices written in different colors and fonts.

The bottom teapot was cut out of scrap-booking paper as well with blue, yelling and green stripes.

The frames are from IKEA and are $2 for 3 frames :)

New Jobs and New Challenges

My darling fiance started his new job today. He's excited - I'm excited so what's the challenge?!  At this time, we don't know his regular hours.  Apparently everyone in the company chose to go on vacation around the same time so we've been waiting anxiously only to be told "Keep waiting".

We are both excited to have him working again - for the same and different reasons! If you talk to him, make sure you give him an extra "way to go!" :)

We have FINALLY booked our wedding photographer!  It took literally months to pick someone out and we still haven't met these peeps.  The lovely photographer who did our engagement photos was amazing and we would love to have her; however she would cost us almost double what we are going to end up paying and she would have to travel.

The photographers we did chose are local to our wedding site and are familiar with the area. They have gone to the local Penn State campus for pictures so KC will be super excited for their knowledge about his domain :)

I have been surfing Pinterest to get my creativity flowing for ideas.  There are some beautiful pieces/ideas out there. Here's some wedding cake love for our fine Tuesday.

Pinterest

Happy Monday!

Did I just really say "Happy Monday" and actually sound perky about it?! Oh my - this girl needs some caffeine.  But wait - I'm giving up my morning Starbucks in an attempt to save some moolah as well as to save my waistline from expanding to regions unknown.  It was brewed Jasmine Green Tea for me this morning - which I actually lurves - with a tiny splash of Sweet N' Low.

I digress from my initial Monday-ness of the post.  I'm trying to be a savvy blogger but let's face it without caffeine, I might only be a half-awake blogger.

I just recently, ok really a few months ago, joined Pinterest  I'm still not sure what to do with it but I muddle along just fine "pinning" away things I see that I like.

I made a wedding specific one to hopefully host some ideas for our wedding or pieces of inspiration.

What do you do with your inspirational pictures for your wedding? Save them to your desktop?  Hide them in a folder in your documents called "K's stuff"?

Mason Jars make the best...EVERYTHING!

I love mason jars - always have since I'm a little girl sitting in a diner in our local town drinking iced tea out of them.  They make me feel young again, connected to my hometown and my family as well as just plain fun!

I've seen a lot of options for mason jars in weddings and I'm definitely incorporating some into our wedding.  KC is a big fan of drinking out them too!  Below is an idea I came across for a Canning Party which sounds like a blast but I love the shape of the invitation for maybe an RSVP card or schedule of events.

Mason Jars

Oats and Raspberries

Not sure how wedding specific this is but I felt the need to share.

I just discovered OATS - yes the quick cooking oats in the cardboard jar from places like Target.  How it is possible in my 20 some almost 30 some years I have never thought to make myself a breakfast of quick cooking oats?! They are much more delightful than instant oatmeal, more filling too.

Today's flavor was oats with fresh raspberries and a tiny teaspoon of strawberry spread!  I hear it's healthy too - so I guess it's wedding related in terms of losing some weight before the wedding!

Thank you Target for making me aware of these amazing breakfast-ing options!

Inspiration

Here are some pictures I've saved over the last few months for inspiration for the wedding.

Our theme is double hearts (interconnect hearts?) and our colors are very fall-y: wine/cranberry, truffle and ivory.

One year

Today is one year to our wedding day, September 8, 2012 and one year closer to starting our life together.  As cliche as it might be, I'm starting our wedding blog..hopefully going to be our grown-up life blog.  I am not the best blogger out there but I try.  Points for effort or something like that, correct?

A little about us:

I'm K, the soon to be Mrs.  I work in higher education, helping college students figure out their way through college life.  I love to read - romance novels -, bake just about any dessert and spend time hunting for bargains.  I enjoy spending time with my DF, KC, and our cat, Purrsephone.

KC, the dear fiance, works for a major shipping company part-time.  He's a gym rat who enjoys working out for the routine not the buffness factor.  He likes Pink Floyd, sports especially football and teasing Purrsephone on a regular basis.

We met online - gasp yes in the scary online world of dating!  We chatted for a few weeks via email and phone.  In a fit of true lovey dovey-ness, we were texting late one Friday night in March and decided to have a pre-date.  What praytell is a pre-date?! It's our own weird way of meeting up the night before our actual scheduled first date and hanging out bowling.  We were dressed down, looking nothing like you'd expect on a first date, nervous and giddy.  It's safe to say that the pre-date went well!  The first date occurred the next night and the rest they say is history...
